We rounded off the day with a performance for parents and the rest of KS2.
A lovely day, feeling blessed to have such a rewarding job.
These smiles sum up the day for me at Vicarage Park CE School in Kendal. The Y6 got stuck straight in to the Introduction and shared with me some of their favourite poems and poets. I was pleased to hear that many of the children write poetry at home for pleasure. After a warm up collaboration in table groups, we moved onto the main event. Writing poems on the theme of mountains; we had poems about the colours of mountains, climbing mountains and imagining what it is to be a mountain. What if they could speak? What would they say?
