I have been busy these last few weeks preparing and selling art work at local Christmas Fayres. This weekend I will be at Rowrah at The Ennerdale Brewery selling cards and prints and original art work. There are interesting presents to be had from a variety of art and craft stalls.

Five schools have completed their sessions so just St Patricks to complete. I have lots of interesting poems about life in the trenches and life back home in UK. Great ideas brewing about what we will be doing with the poems.
Poems written by the children after their trip to Rydal Hall beautifully illustrated on canvases with acrylic paint.
Lovely new book from Vicarage Park CE Primary

I wonder why we go to sleep? And why the sea is very deep? And why the clouds are sometimes grey And where the moon goes through the day? I wonder how electricity is made? And why rainbows fade? And why there are waves on the sea? And why there is a sting on a bee? I wonder why it has to rain? And what it is like to live in Spain? And what it is like to live in Space? And why an elephant has a trunk on his face? I wonder why we have ten toes ? And why and where the wind blows? And what it is like to be the Queen? And why the leaves on trees are green? I wonder what’s behind the door? My Mum had a baby, will she have more? And how do they make Lego bricks? And how do magicians perform their tricks? I wonder why the sky is blue? And what my sister is getting up to? And what it will be like when I am dead? And what the dinosaurs said? I wonder how to be a nurse? And how Mrs Burns can rhyme in verse? And why some planets have rings? I wonder about a lot of things. Thank you Caldew Lea for an amazing day. The children wrote riddles and rhymes and kennings and action poems. The teachers wrote a poem too at the meeting after school.
I hope to post some of the finished work on my blog soon. You made me feel welcome and special, thank you. These smiles sum up the day for me at Vicarage Park CE School in Kendal. The Y6 got stuck straight in to the Introduction and shared with me some of their favourite poems and poets. I was pleased to hear that many of the children write poetry at home for pleasure. After a warm up collaboration in table groups, we moved onto the main event. Writing poems on the theme of mountains; we had poems about the colours of mountains, climbing mountains and imagining what it is to be a mountain. What if they could speak? What would they say?
We rounded off the day with a performance for parents and the rest of KS2. A lovely day, feeling blessed to have such a rewarding job. Lovely morning laughing with the residents of Florence House in Egremont. The laughter yoga session is a wonderful hour of fun, laughter and leaves the participants relaxed and de-stressed.
If you haven't tried laughter yoga yet it is easy to organise. All you need is room space and people and I will come to you. I have now worked with group sizes from 4-40. Suitable for school groups, communities and the work place. Just get in touch and request a session today. Autumn 2014 has been an interesting and varied term. I was made very welcome at St Begh's Catholic School where I worked with every class. All the work is currently at the publishers and the book will be ready in time for Christmas.
At Broughton School I worked with Y2 and Y5 writing stories as well as running a journaling group that was a lot of fun. At Victoria Junior School in Workington I worked with Y4 and Y6 developing emotional literacy through therapeutic story writing groups. I had a lovely day in Kirkbride School delivering orienteering sessions to all the junior pupils. I delivered after school workshops to teachers in Kendal at St Thomas's and Vicarage Park. Out of schools I delivered a writing workshop at ChangeFest and also for coaches of CCNet. I have been busy on my own art work and also decorating my new art room. I have been busy making lots of new contacts and next term is looking very varied and exciting too. So much going on at Broughton. Two writing groups (One called the extreme writing group) meets in a cosy little den before going out into the environment to find stimuli for writing.
